The Providence Friars won their first NCAA Tournament game since 1997 and advanced to the Round of 32 after defeating the USC Trojans 70-69.
The Friars were lifted by a clutch bucket by Rodney Bullock, whose wide-open make with one second remaining lifted PC into the win column and gave Friartown a moment to remember. Bullock finished tied in points with junior guard Kris Dunn, as both players finished the game with 16 points apiece.
Ben Bentil led with 19 points, the highest mark on both sides. Though the Friars shot just 37.5 percent in the second half, they managed to emerge victorious and will face the North Carolina Tar Heels in a Round of 32 matchup on Saturday.
