The Butler Bulldogs are the 9-seed in the Midwest Region in the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
This is Butler's 14th NCAA Tournament appearance, and fifth since 2010, the year they made the National Championship Game for the first time in school history. They made the National Championship Game again in 2011, losing both times to Duke and UConn, respectively. Chris Holtmann joins current Butler AD Barry Collier, Thad Matta, Todd Lickliter, and Boston Celtics Head Coach Brad Stevens as the fifth coach to take the Bulldogs to back-to-back NCAA Tournaments.
Butler will face Texas Tech in the Round of 64 on March 17 2016, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
