Seton Hall defeated Providence Thursday afternoon 89-77 in the completion of the first suspended game in BIG EAST basketball history. The game was finished in Alumni Hall on the PC campus after slippery conditions at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center on Wednesday forced the game to be suspended with 13:03 to play in the second half.
With Seton Hall holding a 56-47 lead when play resumed on Thursday, the Friars cut the advantage to 59-58 before the Pirates pulled away. The point guards for both teams, Seton Hall’s Khadeen Carrington and Providence’s Kyron Cartwright, each scored 25 points. The Hall’s Angel Delgado posted his 19th double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
