Saturday’s BIG EAST action included some high scoring performances and lots of drama.
Marquette’s Markus Howard topped the scoring efforts with 42 points in an 84-80 win at Georgetown. Providence’s David Duke poured in 36 points at Creighton, though the Bluejays rallied late to take a 78-74 victory from the Friars.
All Seton Hall’s Myles Powell did, was score 29 points against St. John’s at Madison Square Garden and led the Pirates back from a 13-point halftime deficit to an 82-79 win. In the process, Powell reached the 2,000-point mark in his career and the 1,000-point plateau in BIG EAST games.
