MBB Minute -- Georgetown Edges Providence in Double OT; Marquette, DePaul Win

The three Saturday league contests had plenty of drama along with some outstanding performances. Georgetown, Marquette and DePaul gained victories.

The Georgetown-Providence game had the most drama. The Hoyas forced overtime and then a second overtime with late 3-pointers by freshman guards and came away with a 96-90 victory at Capital One Arena. Mac McClung’s 3-pointer at the end of regulation tied the game 73-73. James Akinjo’s trey in the final seconds of the first overtime tied the game 86-86. Jessie Govan scored a game-high 33 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked shots. For the Friars, Alpha Diallo finished with 24 points, 13 rebounds and six assists.
