MBB Minute -- Creighton, Providence, Seton Hall Improve Tournament Seeding Outlooks

Creighton, Providence and Seton Hall posted Tuesday victories to improve their chances for the highest possible seed in next week’s BIG EAST Tournament.

Creighton moved closer to nailing down the No. 3 seed with an 82-68 victory over visiting St. John’s. Marcus Foster, the BIG EAST’s leading scorer with an 18.8 average, scored 18 points. Khyri Thomas added 14 points and 12 rebounds. Shamorie Ponds was the only Red Storm player to reach double figures, scoring 16 points. The Bluejays are 10-7 in league play and the Johnnies are 7-10.

Providence has a five-game winning streak after knocking off DePaul 73-64 at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.
