Butler’s Kamar Baldwin hit a step-back 3-pointer as time expired to give the Bulldogs a 79-76 victory against Villanova on Wednesday. Seton Hall used a fast start to win at Georgetown while Providence parlayed a strong second half into a victory against Creighton.
Villanova, ranked 10th by AP this week, rallied from a 10-point deficit in the final three minutes to tie the game 76-76 before Baldwin’s heroics. Saddiq Bey made two 3-pointers in the final minute and finished with 29 points for the Wildcats (17-5, 7-3 BIG EAST). Teammate Collin Gillespie added 28 points. Sean McDermott led the 19th-ranked Bulldogs (18-5, 6-4) with 21 points.
