DePaul, Marquette and Butler got ready for the holiday break – and league play next week – with homecourt victories by comfortable margins on Thursday. The BIG EAST schedule shows three more games for Friday night with Villanova, Xavier and Providence in action.
DePaul probably had the toughest test, taking on a Miami, Ohio, team that brought a 7-4 record. But the Blue Demons got a total of 62 points from the trio of Marin Maric (22 points), Max Strus (21) and Eli Cain (21) and posted an 83-66 victory at Wintrust Arena. A 14-0 run midway through the first half gave DePaul a 26-17 lead and the Blue Demons did not trail the rest of the way.
