BIG EAST teams won seven of eight games on Saturday to improve the league’s non-conference record to 76-18 (.809), the best mark since 1988-89 (113-23, .831). Four of the winning teams placed five players in double figures.
Marquette (7-3) won at in-state rival Wisconsin 82-63 behind guards Andrew Rowsey and Markus Howard. Rowsey made 5-of-6 3-pointers and finished with 24 points. Howard finished with 23 points and seven rebounds. The Golden Eagles shot 14-of-22 (.636) from beyond the arc.
Creighton also defeated an in-state rival, rallying in the second half to beat Nebraska 75-65. It was the Bluejays’ seventh straight win in the series.
