NEW YORK – Marquette guard Markus Howard and Providence guard A.J. Reeves have earned the season’s first weekly men’s basketball awards. Howard, a unanimous Preseason All-BIG EAST First Team selection, has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Reeves has been selected BIG EAST Freshman of the Week.

Markus Howard, Marquette, G, Jr. – In a 2-0 week, Howard averaged 26.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists. In Saturday’s 92-59 win against Bethune-Cookman, the junior guard poured in 37 points, the most points by a Marquette player at a home game in 12 years.
