NEW YORK – For the second week in a row, Marquette guard Markus Howard has been named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Georgetown guard Mac McClung has earned BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors for the second time this season.

Markus Howard, Marquette, G, Jr. – Howard scored a game-high 38 points to lead Marquette to a 66-65 win over first-place Villanova and averaged 27.5 points in a 1-1 week for the Golden Eagles. In the Villanova victory, Howard shot 13-of-24 from the field, 5-of-11 from 3-point range and 7-of-7 from the foul line.
