STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – After two long days at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Athletic Center, a new BIG EAST champion was crowned, a three-peat was had and a collegiate record was broken at the 2016 BIG EAST Indoor Track & Field Championships Presented by the Jeep Brand.
The Marquette Golden Eagles won their first-ever BIG EAST team title with 168.50 points in women's events. The women had it won going into the last event of the meet, the 4x400. The Golden Eagles had four event-winners and 13 podium appearances. The Marquette coaching staff won Coaching Staff of the Year, while rookie Monique Felix won BIG EAST Female Field Performer of the Meet.
