BIG EAST Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
Ben Konopka, Marquette, Fr., Hurdles (Inverness, Ill.)
Marquette freshman Ben Konopka broke his own Marquette freshman record in the 60-meter hurdles last week at Notre Dame’s Meyo Invitational. With a 8.20 finish, his time ranks first in the BIG EAST this season and is No. 2 overall at Marquette. Konopka’s time is also the best in the BIG EAST since conference reconfiguration in 2014. The freshman won his preliminary heat with the mark on Friday and placed 12th in the event on Saturday afternoon.
