The Marquette Golden Eagles will be without one of their sophomore guards for at least some of the 2018-19 season, as the school announced Wednesday evening that Greg Elliott had surgery for a thumb injury suffered in practice last week.
Sophomore guard Greg Elliott of the Marquette University men’s basketball team underwent successful surgery Wednesday afternoon, head coach Steve Wojciechowski announced.
Elliott’s surgery repaired a torn ligament in his left thumb (typical recovery time is 8-12 weeks), which he injured in practice on Oct. 5. He suffered an injury to the same thumb in 2017 that didn’t necessitate surgery.
