Marquette escapes Northern Illinois, improve to 8-3.

This time, they used 58 points from Sam Hauser, Markus Howard, and Andrew Rowsey to pull away late and defeat the Northern Illinois Huskies 79-70 Monday night.

The Golden Eagles jumped out to a quick 14-4 lead within the first five minutes of the game, but struggled throughout the rest of the half defensively resulting in a back and forth half. The Huskies would take their first lead with 6:36 left in the opening frame on a Dante Thorpe jumper to give them the lead 27-25.

It was more of the same in the second half as the game would switch hands continuously.
