Markus Howard’s 52 points powers Marquette to OT win over Providence

Markus Howard tied a Big East record en route to a Marquette Golden Eagles win on Wednesday.

Howard scored 52 points in the Golden Eagles’ 95-90 OT victory over the Providence Friars. The outburst from the star sophomore matched a performance from former Friar MarShon Brooks, who dropped 52 all the way back on February 23, 2011 against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Markus’ dynamo performance included an incredible outing from 3-point land. He was 11-19 from beyond the arc. The 11 3-pointers tied a career-high he set against Eastern Illinois earlier this season, which is rather ridiculous.
