St. John’s has announced that Marcus LoVett will miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season due to a knee injury that he suffered prior to conference play.
LoVett started in each of the seven games he played this season, averaging 14.9 points on 42 percent shooting from the field and 38.5 percent shooting from deep. He also grabbed 2.1 rebounds per game and recorded 15 steals. Prior to the season, he was named to the Preseason Second Team All-Big East squad.
The Red Storm have struggled in Big East play without LoVett. At 0-5, they sit alone at the bottom of the conference standings, and face Villanova, Xavier, Creighton, and Butler in four of their next five games.
