Senior guard Selena Lott scored 17 of her team-high 26 points in the first 20 minutes as the Golden Eagles built a 49-30 lead heading into halftime. Despite a cold shooting start to the second half, Lott and MU were able to hold off UC, who cut the game to single-digits midway through the third quarter. A strong defensive effort paved the way to victory for Marquette (3-1), as it caused 18 turnovers and scored 21 points off those takeaways. The Golden Eagles also won the battle on the glass, 37-33, and held UC to just 18 percent (2-11) from 3-point range.
