Five Blue Demons scored in double figures and DePaul turned 22 Red Storm turnovers into 27 points to claim a nationally televised home win on Wednesday night at Wintrust Arena. Dee Bekelja scored a Blue Demon-best 22 points off 8-of-16 shooting while Lexi Held added 21 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Qadashah Hoppie, who has had recent individual success against DePaul, continued her tear with a game-high 28 points – one of two St. John’s players in double figures. The Blue Demons (7-3, 4-1 BIG EAST) kept Red Storm leading scorer Leilani Correa in check, however, allowing the sophomore guard just three field goal attempts on the night as all four of her points came from the charity stripe.
