Villanova (21-13) was victorious in a doubleheader sweep of the Lafayette Leopards (4-18) on Wednesday afternoon. The Wildcats won by scores of 4-0 and 6-2. In game one, Lauren Herschberg opened with a solo home run to center field to put Villanova ahead 1-0. The Wildcats added three more runs in the top of the third inning. Brette Lawrence (W, 13-7) earned the win on the mound for the Wildcats. She pitched five scoreless innings while allowing just two hits.
