NEW YORK – BIG EAST teams went 2-1-1 on Friday as DePaul and Creighton earned wins, Xavier tied with Cincinnati and Butler lost 3-2.
DEPAUL 3, Drake 1
DePaul (2-3) struck first in the seventh minute to take an early 1-0 lead. Advancing into Drake territory on a counter-attack, freshman midfielder Istvan Wilhelms found Timmy Iscra making a run through the goal box. Iscra received Wilhelms' touch off his chest and tapped the one-timer in the bottom right corner of the net. DePaul scored again in the 20th and 70th minutes, as Wilhelms and Philipp Konigstein netted their third goals of the season.
