NEW YORK – All 10 teams were in action to open the 2017 season with three games against top 25 opponents. Six of the matches went into overtime as BIG EAST men’s soccer went 3-6-1 on opening Friday. No. 25 Butler, Georgetown and St. John’s all netted their first W’s of the season. Seton Hall went to a 1-1 draw with Saint Peter’s.

The Hoyas scored a pair of first-half goals to cruise to the 2-0 decision over local rival American as Georgetown starts the 2017 season 1-0. Junior midfielder Ethan Lochner and sophomore forward Achara scored goals for the Hoyas.
