All offseason, Butler Bulldogs fans have wondered who would be the starting shooting guard on opening night between Avery Woodson and Kethan Savage, two high-caliber transfers.

On Thursday, the question was answered.

Bulldogs head coach Chris Holtmann told FanRag Sports’ Jon Rothstein that Savage would be missing the game against Northern Colorado with pneumonia.

Savage also missed Butler’s second exhibition game against Saginaw Valley State with pneumonia.

In the Bulldogs’ first exhibition tilt, against Wabash, Savage played a vital role, scoring 16 points.

Following the game against Northern Colorado, Butler stays in Indianapolis and plays Northwestern in the Gavitt Games on November 16th.
