MILWAUKEE – Third-seeded Georgetown stunned top-seeded Denver, 9-8 in double-overtime, to win the 2019 BIG EAST Women’s Lacrosse Championship presented by Jeep. Tournament Most Outstanding Player Francesca Whitehurst scored the sudden victory goal with 4:02 remaining in the second overtime period to clinch the Hoyas’ second league crown and first since 2010. GU earns the BIG EAST’s automatic bid into the 2019 NCAA Championship, marking their 15th overall appearance and first back-to-back showing since 2013-14.
