Reports are coming fast and furious Thursday afternoon that Georgetown has parted ways with their head coach, John Thompson III. JTIII was the second longest tenured coach in the Big East with 13 seasons at the helm of the program his father, John Thompson II brought to national prominence. Original reports were deemed “unconfirmed” by CasualHoya.com but that site later confirmed the news. For good measure, ESPN.com’s Jeff Goodman also reported the firing. Plenty more on this as the story unfolds. Head over to our friends CasualHoya.com for more right now.
Unconfirmed reports that John Thompson III will NOT return as Georgetown's head coach next season.
