Georgetown Men Win Third Straight X-C Title; Villanova Edges Providence For Women's Crown

Kenosha, Wis. – The Georgetown men won their third straight cross country title, while the Villanova women ended Providence’s two-year reign as champions at the 2017 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships Presented by Jeep Saturday at the Wayne Dennehl National Course.

Individually, Georgetown’s Jonathan Green took first place by completing the 8K course in a time of 24:27.6, finishing 4.9 seconds faster than Villanova’s Andrew Marston (24:32.7). For the women, Providence’s Catarina Rocha won the 6K race in a time of 19:59.0 ahead of teammate Brianna Ilarda, who finished second in 20:12.2.

The Georgetown men finished with 40 points and placed all five of their scoring runners in the top 16.
