NEW YORK – The 2016 NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship bracket was announced Monday evening with two BIG EAST teams included among the 64 berths. Georgetown won its first BIG EAST Championship yesterday to claim the league’s automatic berth, punching its national postseason ticket for the fifth consecutive year and seventh time overall. The Hoyas topped co-regular-season champion Marquette in Sunday’s final but the Golden Eagles’ season will continue as MU earned an at-large selection. Marquette earns an NCAA Championship berth for the first time since 2013 and 13th time overall, most among current BIG EAST members.
