ESPN: Butler head coach Chris Holtmann ‘emerges as frontrunner’ for Ohio State Buckeyes coaching job

Butler Bulldogs head coach Chris Holtmann is now reportedly the frontrunner to fill the vacancy for the same position for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The report comes from ESPN’s College Basketball Insider Jeff Goodman.

The Ohio State job opened up on Monday when Thad Matta left after a lengthy tenure in Columbus. OSU has already treaded into Big East waters, reportedly offering the job to Creighton Bluejays head coach Greg McDermott on Wednesday night.

McDermott declared Thursday that he would be staying in Omaha and remain as the Bluejays head coach.
