For almost 37 minutes of Monday evening’s game, the Marquette Golden Eagles weren’t leading the Eastern Illinois Panthers.
Marquette came out sluggish, and found themselves down by 11 midway through the first half before eventually getting back into the game.
The second half was similar, though, and Marquette traded blows with the mid-major squad. The Golden Eagles needed a pair of Sam Hauser free throws with nine seconds left to even get to overtime.
All’s well that ends well, right? Marquette got it together and pulled out an 86-83 victory in overtime.
