Creighton and Butler picked up home wins on a light Saturday league schedule that included only two games. Two more contests are slated for Sunday with Marquette hosting No. 1 Villanova and Seton Hall visiting DePaul with Pirate Angel Delgado eyeing the BIG EAST’s career rebounding record.
Creighton held off Georgetown 85-77 in front of 18,518 fans, the ninth largest crowd in CentryLink Center history. Marcus Foster led the Bluejays (17-5, 7-3) with 28 points and six rebounds. Khyri Thomas added 22 points. The Hoyas (13-8, 3-7) cut a 16-point second-half deficit to one point twice, but were unable to take the lead.
