Creighton’s Zach Hanson out 8-12 weeks with knee injury

Creighton forward Zach Hanson may miss the start of the college basketball season following knee surgery on Wednesday afternoon, the Omaha World-Herald reports.

Hanson suffered a “fluke injury” per Creighton head coach Greg McDermott, leading to the surgery.

Hanson averaged 6.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game last season for the Bluejays, appearing in all 35 games.

If the big man is unable to start the season, the Bluejays certainly have alternatives, with Hanson’s role likely being filled by Toby Hegner, Martin Krampelj, or Justin Patton.
