FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Creighton played easily its best round of the spring season and took the lead after the first round of the BIG EAST Women’s Golf Championship Presented by JEEP at the Club at Gateway in Fort Myers, Fla. The Bluejays shot a team score of 295 (+7), the best total by a Creighton team since at least 2003. Creighton holds a five-stroke lead over second-place Xavier and a six stroke edge over third-place Seton Hall.
Individually, Creighton sophomore Katie Allen sits atop the leaderboard after firing a 1-under 71, which tied her career best score.
