CAYCE, S.C. – The first day of the BIG EAST Tennis Championship presented by Jeep saw Creighton and Georgetown move on after sweeping Providence and Butler, respectively. The Bluejays and Hoyas grabbed the doubles point each en route to 4-0 victories.
Georgetown advances to the quarterfinals and will face top-seeded Xavier, while Creighton is set to take on No. 2 DePaul, with both matches scheduled to begin Friday at 12:30 p.m. ET.
The Hoyas started strong as the No. 2 doubles team of Sofie Moenster and Cecilia Lynham defeated Butler’s Lauryn Padgett and Nina Bertino, 6-1.
