The Creighton Bluejays are 2-0 on the year following Tuesday’s 94-6 win over crosstown rival, Nebraska-Omaha.
The Bluejays looked much better in every facet than in Sunday’s win over North Dakota State, hitting 11 threes, and assisting 28 of 34 made field goals.
Christian Bishop finished one point short of a career-high with 18, leading all Bluejays, but Denzel Mahoney was right up there with him, finishing with 17 points on 6-9 shooting. Five of Mahoney’s six made field goals were from beyond the three-point line. Denzel Jones had 12 points, Damien Jefferson and Marcus Zegarowski both had 11 (Zegarowski also had a career-high 11 assists), and 7’0 freshman Ryan Kalkbrenner finished with 10, as the Bluejays offense looked multi-dimensional and incredibly deep.
