Prior to Wednesday night’s Big East Tournament first round games, the conference named Butler Bulldogs head coach Chris Holtmann the Big East Coach of the Year.
Holtmann, who becomes the first Butler coach to win the award, guided the Bulldogs to a 23-7 record despite the graduation of Kellen Dunham and Roosevelt Jones.
Additionally, Butler is 6-2 against teams in the AP Top 25 this season, and expected to receive its third consecutive NCAA Tournament selection, all under Holtmann.
