ROSEMONT, IL. – Fourth-seeded Butler battled back after going down by four runs to upend top-seed DePaul 10-6 in the first semifinal of the 2016 BIG EAST Softball Championship presented by Jeep.
Making their first appearance in the BIG EAST Championship since joining the conference, the Bulldogs were not fazed by facing the regular season title winners.
The Blue Demons were the first to get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the first after Dylan Christensen tagged up from third base with the bases loaded after Sarah Dixon made a leaping catch in foul territory in right field.
