After losing its BIG EAST opener at home, Butler’s back was against the wall coming into Saturday’s game against Creighton; the Bulldogs played like it. LaVall Jordan mixed up the starting lineup and Butler played with a sense of urgency for all 40 minutes, ultimately prevailing 84-69. Butler and Creighton are both 1-1 in conference play following this one.

Coach Jordan seemed to be looking for defense after a poor defensive performance against Georgetown last week. Henry Baddley and Joey Brunk got their first starts of the season and Butler made life difficult for the Bluejays’ offense early; Almost 10 minutes of game time had passed before Creighton scored its tenth point.
