NEW YORK – The opening weekend of conference play for BIG EAST women’s soccer teams wrapped up on Sunday as a trio of teams claimed shutout victories. No. 12 Georgetown, Butler and Villanova all picked up clean sheets, joining Creighton and Providence who also picked up three points apiece in shutout fashion in their league lid lifters. All 10 teams take the pitch on Thursday for Week 2 of BIG EAST play, with all five matches streaming on the BIG EAST Digital Network presented by SoFi.

The 12th-ranked Hoyas extended their winning streak to five games and stretched their shutout streak to three by topping visiting Marquette 3-0 on Sunday afternoon.
