The Friars claimed their first weekend sweep since conference realignment and are off to their best eight-game start to BIG EAST play since 2011-12 with Sunday’s home win over the Musketeers. Providence set the tone early and never trailed, erupting for 46 first-half points, most in a single half for the Friars this year. Jovana Nogic led all scorers with 16 to go along with four boards and four assists, while Xavier was anchored by A’riana Gray’s 10th double-double of the year with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
