BIG EAST teams combined for 11 games between Saturday and Monday, with the bulk of the contests played on Sunday, posting an 8-3 mark. Providence played a pair of games at the Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament hosting by Rhode Island, going 1-1, while No. 20/14 DePaul had the lone Monday contest – knocking off Temple in emphatic fashion during midday action. Also of note, Butler remained undefeated on the season by picking up its sixth win of the year, No. 18/17 Marquette knocked off then-RV/RV Michigan, Seton Hall defeated Saint Peter’s for its BIG EAST-best seventh victory of 2018-19, Creighton topped rival Nebraska for a third consecutive season, Villanova limited Saint Joseph’s to just 35 points and Xavier survived in overtime for its fourth-straight win.
