In the only game on Tuesday, Marquette held off a furious Butler rally and picked up a 70-67 victory at Fiserv Forum.
D.J. Carton and Koby McEwen each scored 18 points for the Golden Eagles (9-9, 5-7 BIG EAST), who ended a three-game losing streak. Marquette shot 61.5 percent from the field. The Bulldogs (5-10, 4-8 BIG EAST) trailed 50-32 with 12:20 left before making their push. Newcomer Bo Hodges had 15 points and 12 rebounds in his second game. Chuck Harris added 16 points, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range.
Wednesday’s three-game slate includes two matchups of old-time conference members.
