NEW YORK – Connecticut went 1-1 this weekend with a shutout win over Temple in league action on Friday, but lost 2-0 against No. 4 Maryland on Sunday. Keeper Cheyenne Sprecher made eight saves, including seven in the second half. Both of the Terps’ goals came in the second quarter off deflections. The Huskies remain at the top of the BIG EAST field hockey standings at 3-0, tied for the league lead with No. 13 Liberty. The Lady Flames defeated Quinnipiac 5-1 in BIG EAST action on Friday, but lost in overtime to No. 19 Harvard on Sunday.
