Marty Higgins, St. John’s, RS-Fr., INF (Nutley, N.J.)
St. John’s third baseman Marty Higgins ranked in the top three in the conference in hits, batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage and doubles. Higgins batted 7-for-11 ranking second in the BIG EAST in batting with a .636 average. Higgins knocked down three doubles, ranking third in slugging (.909). In the opening game of a 2-2 series with regional and conference rival Seton Hall, Higgins went 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles, including a walk-off in the 11th to take the game, 5-4.
