BIG EAST schools with current coaches and past athletes eyeing gold in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil – The 2016 Rio Olympics officially begin on Friday with opening ceremonies and representatives from eight BIG EAST schools will be in attendance, eyeing their chance at a Gold Medal. Butler, Creighton, DePaul, Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, St. John’s and Villanova all have former athletes or current coaches in Brazil, competing in various sports, including men’s and women’s basketball and track and field.
