CAYCE, S.C. – Hitting the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center courts for the first time during the 2018 BIG EAST Men’s Tennis Championship, presented by Jeep, four teams survived to compete in Saturday’s semifinal matches.
No. 1 DePaul wasted no time against No. 8 Villanova as Tripp Tuff and Christopher Casati bested Tommy Mulflur and Matt Phelps, 6-1, while Alex Galoustian and Boris Spanjaard clinched the doubles point over Will Elmore and Stefan Suarez, 6-3.
In singles action, courts six, five and one finished in straight-set victories, favoring the Blue Demons, with Luuk Wassenaar, Tamas Zador and Boris Spanjaard securing the 4-1 victory.
