NEW YORK – On Saturday night, BIG EAST men’s soccer teams went 1-3-1, with St. John’s earning a home victory over Temple and No. 18 Georgetown tying UConn on the road, 1-1. Villanova, Providence and Marquette lost one-goal matches. On Sunday, Seton Hall earned its third win this week with a 2-1 victory on the road at Penn.
Heading into the final week of non-conference play Georgetown leads the standings with a 4-0-1 record and a national ranking of No. 18. Xavier is close behind at 3-1-1. The two teams will play each other in the BIG EAST opener on Saturday, but the Musketeers will have one more tune up with Cleveland State on Wednesday.
