NEW YORK – BIG EAST men’s soccer’s reigning Offensive Player of the Week, Seton Hall’s Andres Arcila, was awarded national honors on Tuesday as he was announced as the United Soccer Coaches (formerly NSCAA) National Player of the Week.
The national honor comes after Arcila's nine-point week that netted BIG EAST Player of the Week honors and helped the Pirates to a three-game winning streak. Arcila is the first Pirate to win the prestigious award since Samuel Petrone on Sept. 10, 2008. Each week, a male and female player in each NCAA Division is selected by a committee from a nomination pool comprised of players of the week from each NCAA soccer conference.
