NEW YORK – Sunday fútbol featured a range of excitement for three BIG EAST men’s soccer teams advancing to the NCAA Third Round. No. 3 seed Georgetown opened the day with a 5-0 shutout of visiting Pitt at Shaw Field in the noon game. In the evening games, No. 16 seed St. John’s staved off a Syracuse late-game rally to hold on to a 2-1 victory at home at Belson Stadium and Providence upset No. 15 seed Penn State on the road in a 3-2 come-back win in overtime.
