Ed Cooley received a commitment from top-35 player Makai Ashton-Langford Monday night following the Worcester, Massachusetts native’s official visit to Providence this past weekend. The Friars came up short in September when Ashton-Langford committed to Kevin Ollie and the UConn Huskies. Last month the Huskies parted ways with assistant coach and Ashton-Langford’s lead recruiter, Glen Miller, which then allowed the dominos to begin to fall. Ashton-Langford’s de-commitment would follow, and now ten days later Ed Cooley has his man.
Providence has landed one of the top point guards in the country, Makai Ashton-Langford, Mass Rivals coach Vin Pastore told ESPN.
