Coming off of a 72-64 loss to Northwestern in the Big Ten Tournament, No. 6 seed Maryland enters the NCAA Tournament with a 24-8 record. Wins over Oklahoma State, Minnesota, and Northwestern strengthen the Terrapins’ resume over the course of the season.
Xavier snuck into the tournament as an 11 seed and secured their case with a 62-57 win over Butler in the Big East Tournament. Overcoming a January injury to Edmond Sumner, the Musketeers’ second leading scorer and leader in assists, they finished the regular season with a 21-13 record.
